I teach 3rd-5th grade self-contained at Taylor Mills School. This is my first year in the Manalapan-Englishtown School District, however I previously taught for 3 years in the Tinton Falls School District. Prior to teaching in Tinton Falls, I worked as a Preschool teacher. I am a resident of Point Pleasant, New Jersey. I graduated Monmouth University with a double major in English and Elementary Education. I have endorsements in Special Education and as a Supplemental Instructor in Reading and Mathematics.
Last summer I was given the opportunity to travel back to Bali, Indonesia. Summer of 2017, I was able to volunteer as an English teacher in various schools throughout the city of Tabanan. In the summer of 2018 I went back for 10 weeks and led the teaching program. I was in charge of the teaching programs in the local village schools, after-school programs, and at the childcare centers. This was an incredible experience and I cannot wait to share my experience and all of the things I've learned while teaching abroad.
One of my fondest memories from teaching abroad was when I was able to share pictures of my class with my classes in Indonesia. Although there were language barriers between my students and I, teaching abroad reminded me that we all smile in the same language.
